Daz Sampson: THE FACTS

Saturday, March 4th, 2006
  • He was part of Bus Stop, who covered “Kung-Fu Fighting” after Daz got ideas from playing “Yie-Ar Kung Fu” on his Amstrad CPC 6128. The single sold over 250,00 copies and got in the UK top ten.

Snow!

Saturday, March 4th, 2006

Yesterday, it snowed:

Today, the view out of my window looked like this:

Manchester can do a damned good impression of being a nice place to live sometimes.

Fascinating Carparks of Urban Wales

Saturday, March 4th, 2006

An example of 1960s or 1970s “Dull Grey” concrete architecture. Notice the attractive “forecourt” minipark in front, in which the more expensive cars (including a classy black Peugeot 106 and a sporty red L-reg Vauxhall Astra) can be put on prominent public display, and the “prison bars” on the first floor, a relic of the era where English cars needed somewhere to park protected from the infamous Welsh Carpark Mobs during the independence riots of 1983. A more perfect example of the style you will not find.

Minerva: Metastasis 2

Saturday, March 4th, 2006

Adam Foster, a guy what I know off of UA has just released the second part of his MINERVA mod for Half Life 2. The first in the series was, uh, quite well received. So if you’re stuck for something to do this weekend, check it out.

That’s my girl

Saturday, March 4th, 2006

Naomi is down in London with some fellow Eurovision fans who’ve got tickets to see “Making Your Mind Up” (‘fans’ might be an understatement; Conor pretty much lives for Eurovision, so far as I can tell). She’s just sent me a text message to say to watch the programme because she’s in the audience, and that she’s very excited because she’s just seen someone famous. No, not Antony out of Blue, or Kym Marsh, or even Terry Wogan or Natasha Kerplunk. She’s excited because she’s just seen the living legend that is Andrew Marr.

I am so jealous.

Slacking on a Friday

Friday, March 3rd, 2006

Search for “Unfortunately, [your name]”. Hilarity ensues!

Unfortunately, Chris’s worst fears were realized when the truth about he and Molly came out.

Donald Trump tried to persuade him to come out in the boardroom, but unfortunately, Chris isn’t gay.

Unfortunately, Chris forgets Otto’s special food. Before he knows it, the pet rabbit, Mr. Whiskers, who belongs to the little girl next door, lies dead.

Unfortunately, Chris may not be used to spinning this fast. Chris’s legs can’t keep up with Pat’s preferred spin. This will cause considerable discomfort.

Unfortunately, Chris tested positive for the Legacy Virus — a fatal, all-but-incureable disease engineered to kill mutants.

My World Of Sexy Gareth

Spore

Thursday, March 2nd, 2006

Gameplay video of Spore by Will Wright, creator of Sim City.

I don’t care how much it costs, I need a PC that will let me play this game. That is the single most impressive gameplay video I have ever seen. There is some very, very clever technology in there, and I’m betting Peter Molyneux is quite cross with Will Wright for developing the game he’s been trying to make for all these years.

The Apprentice

One of these retards is going to go away with a six figure salary. There is no hope for the universe.

If anyone wants me, I’ll over here, slamming my nuts in a drawer. Again.
